RECE Palestine Solidarity Scholarships

Donate to the RECE Palestine Solidarity Scholarship Fund

In 2020, RECE was preparing to host its 28th annual international conference at Bethlehem University. We were excited about returning to Palestine 10 years after our first conference held in occupied Palestine in 2009. Preparations by the host committee at Bethlehem University were well underway; the programme committee had published the call for papers.

Unfortunately, due to the fast-evolving covid-19 pandemic, we had to cancel the conference.

Every year we ask you to make a donation to the RECE travel fund. The travel fund has enabled us to support graduate students from global south countries to attend RECE.

There was no international RECE travel in 2020. Instead, we have worked with Bethlehem University to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Palestine.

The RECE Palestine Solidarity Scholarships will support 10 students based at the departments of early childhood education and social work at BU. The scholarships will cover tuition fees and study resources (e.g., tablet computers).

Here is how it works:

  1. RECE will seed-fund four scholarships from our budget
  2. We appeal to you to donate to the RECE Palestine Solidarity Scholarship Fund so we can reach the goal of supporting 10 students

This is an excellent opportunity to show practical solidarity with Palestinian students! We will post updates on the progress of the campaign and announce the recipients here on the website. Watch this space for their stories and testimonies! If you have any questions or require more information, please contact Mathias Urban mathias.urban@dcu.ie

RECE is a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit, EIN 85-3035457. Your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by U.S. law.
Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated!
